Even at times when euphoria can easily take over, the Japanese remain remarkably disciplined. This is evidenced by images from Tokyo, where many football fans patiently waited on Wednesday at the famous crossroads of Shibuya after the stunt victory against Germany. Only when the light turned green for pedestrians did countless people take to the streets to celebrate together.
