French Football Association finds criticism of Qatar ‘excessive’: ‘Surprised by this attack’

What happens if you let an 80-year-old be president of the French Football Federation? Right, then he starts talking gibberish. Noël Le Graët said that he does not understand that there is so much criticism of Qatar, the country that organizes the World Cup.

“I was surprised by the political aspect that characterizes this World Cup,” Le Gräet told French media. “I only follow football, leaving the political side to the people with the necessary competence.”

He therefore thinks the call for a boycott of the tournament is exaggerated. “I am surprised by this attack on a country that has shown its willingness to host a World Cup. Despite this, there are still people who question Qatar’s ability to host the tournament. I see the opposite and see them be ready.” Maybe it’s time for new glasses.
