Patrick Roest also won the 10 kilometers in qualifying races for the first series of World Cup races. The 26-year-old Dutchman, who has been playing for Team Reggeborgh since this season, won against his biggest competitor Jorrit Bergsma during the last stage.

Bergsma was ahead for a long time, but had to let Roest go first in the final: 12.52.22 at 12.53.17.

For Roest it is already his 3rd victory this weekend. The number 2 at the Olympic Games in both the 5 and 10 kilometers also won the 1500 meters and 5000 meters in Thialf. In the 5000 meters, Bergsma, who switched to Jumbo-Visma this summer, also had to settle for 2nd place.

In addition to Roest and Bergsma, Mats Stoltenborg (13.01.83), Beau Snellink (13.03.58) and Kars Jansman (13.04.93) also qualified for the 10,000 meters race at the World Cup in Calgary in December.
