There hasn’t been much laughter at Leicester City this season, but Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day for everyone who cares about The Foxes. On the field of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Youri Tielemans scored a fantastic goal after eight minutes. An important one: Leicester then simply steamed through, won 0-4 and climbed out of the relegation zone in one go.
Tielemans’ beautiful goal came very early in the match after a free kick by James Maddison. That was headed away, after which captain Tielemans took the leather in one go. The ball disappeared into the top left corner: 0-1 for The Foxes.
It only got better for the visitors afterwards, because ten minutes later it was already 0-2 after a goal from Barnes. Maddison deepened the score to 0-3 midway through the second half with an assist from the inevitable Jamie Vardy. That same Vardy made it 0-4 moments later. Another goal with a Belgian edge, because the assist came from Timothy Castagne.
At Leicester City, Tielemans, Castagne and Wout Faes all played the full 90 minutes. For Leicester City, the third win of the season comes at an ideal time: The Foxes pass the red lantern on to Nottingham Forest and also jump over Wolverhampton, Leeds United and West Ham United.
