LIGUE 1. AS Monaco and Clement lose to Lille in spectacle, Dejaegere scores against Sels

Halfway through, both teams had already scored twice. Alexsandro (22.) and Remy Cabella (39.) gave the host the lead twice, Caio Henrique (34.) and Axel Disasi (44.) balanced the plates the same number of times.

In the second half, Philippe Clement’s troops initially took command via Wissam Ben Yedder (53.), but again Cabella (62.) and Jonathan Bamba (70.) completed the turnaround. Eliot Matazo was part of the Monegasque midfield for 86 minutes.

Lille, now sixth in the standings of the French first division with 22 points, is playing leapfrog thanks to the triumph with Monaco, which has 21 points in seventh place.

Dejaegere scores against ex-teammate Sels

Toulouse threw away a double lead against Strasbourg on Sunday on the twelfth match day of the Ligue 1: 2-2.

After 55 minutes, however, there seemed to be no problem with Anthony Rouault (44.) and captain Brecht Dejaegere (55.), who beat compatriot and ex-team mate Matz Sels a second time. However, Lebo Mothiba (65.) and Kevin Gameiro (73.) tied the visitors again.

At the same time, Clermont, with Maximiliano Caufriez, lost heavily from 1-3 to Stade Brest, which in this way passes his red lantern.

Despite the defeat, Clermont remains ninth in the standings of the French first division with 17 points. Toulouse is breathing down the neck, in tenth position with 16 units. Strasbourg is sneaking out of the relegation zone for the time being, to a sixteenth place with 9 pieces.

Rennes and Theate only distance themselves from low flyer Angers in injury time

Stade Rennes was only able to distance themselves from low-flyer Angers on Sunday afternoon on the twelfth match day of the Ligue 1 in injury time: 1-2.

Amine Gouiri (43.) had broken the spell for the visitors on a sigh of the halftime signal, but Amine Salama (53.) quickly hit back in the second half. Rennes then seemed unable to pull the sheet to himself, until Lovro Majer got the job done from the penalty spot (90.+3).

Arthur Theate made the game full of the heart of the Rennes defence, while the injured Jérémy Doku was not part of the selection.

Thanks to the late victory, Rennes jumps over Marseille to fourth place in the general classification of the French top football division with 24 points.
