| Dirk van Duijvenbode is the last Dutchman to be stranded in the quarterfinals PC28

Dirk van Duijvenbode turned out to be the best Dutchman during Players Championship 28 on Sunday afternoon. Aubergenius lost in the quarterfinals 6-0 against a great playing Damon Heta.

The penultimate Players Championship weekend is of great importance to many darts players for qualifying for the PDC World Darts Championship in December.

Luke Humphries, Damon Heta (who also won PC26), Josh Rock and surprising German Ricardo Pietreczko will battle it out for the Pro Tour title (and £12,000).

Besides Van Duijvenbode, Berry van Peer was the only Dutchman to reach the last 16. Van Peer has had a dramatic season. Niels Zonneveld, Luc Peters, Gian van Veen, Vincent van der Voort and Wesley Plaisier stranded in the last 32.

Gian van Veen
The performance of 20-year-old Gian van Veen can be called special. The talented darts player without a PDC Tour Card made his debut on the PDC Tour this year, but this weekend reached the last 32 3 times and the quarterfinals once.
