Erling Haaland keeps scoring. The Norwegian striker appeared at the kick-off against Brighton and made it 2-0 at halftime with two goals. Especially with the first goal, the Norwegian showed his abilities by rounding the goalkeeper at speed and then putting his closest attacker aside. Wait and see if Haaland can score even more goals in the second half.
After the grueling draw against Copenhagen in the Champions League and defeat to Liverpool in their own league, Manchester City were eager to deliver yet another smashing performance. Kevin De Bruyne and co. faced an opponent that should not be underestimated for that assignment. The Brighton of man in shape Leandro Trossard is doing excellent this season and nestled nicely in eighth place. There was therefore no question of underestimating the troops of Pep Guardiola, who, as usual, did not rest for a moment to lead his team to victory.
The spectators in the Etihad did not have to wait long for the first danger. Kevin De Bruyne was sent into the street and found Erling Haaland. The striker went past the goalkeeper and was then pushed to the ground. The referee thought it was too little for a penalty kick and allowed play to continue. Suspended execution as it turned out. A few minutes later, an Ederson kick ended up in the Norwegian’s barrel. Haaland was faster on the ball than goalkeeper Sanchez and also put his closest attacker aside. The Norwegian striker was able to kick his 16th (!) goal of the season into an empty goal.
Moments later, it almost happened again. After a great combination, Kevin De Bruyne was unable to put enough power behind his kick to put City on roses. Then the foot went off the accelerator for the Citizens, but when Bernardo Silva went over Dunk’s leg, the ball went on the dot. Erling Haaland, who else, got behind the ball and kicked the ropes hard in his second of the afternoon.
