Feyenoord the better party but does not get further than a point against FC Midtjylland

Feyenoord spilled points against FC Midtjylland in their own Kuip, Arne Slot’s men were definitely the better match, but 2 outbreaks of FC Midtjylland were enough for 2 goals. On the Rotterdam side, the goals came from Quinten Timber and David Hancko. It became 2-2.

After 10 minutes it was Feyenoord with the first chance. After a shot on goal, the ball fell at the feet of Sebastian Szymanski, but he hit the goalkeeper. Shortly afterwards FC Midtjylaand came close to Feyenoord’s goal, but Justin Bijlow was alert to Gustav Isaksen’s shot. Yet Bijlow was the 1st goalkeeper who had to fumble tonight. Emiliano Martinez gave the visitors the lead with a beautiful long shot.

Straighten for rest
Feyenoord insisted more, but did not really create great opportunities. Just after the half hour it was Timber who scored. After a good push from striker Santiago Gimenez, a nice pass came that ended with Szymanski in the penalty area. The ball was returned by the Pool to Timber who fumbled the ball in.

Feyenoord wants to run away
Feyenoord got off to a good start after the break, the 2nd goal for the Feyenoord team was scored within 5 minutes. The ball was brought into the 16 from the side by Lutsharel Geertruida, and again it was Hancko who scored. He already did this last Sunday against FC Twente, which was his 1st Feyenoord goal.

Unfortunately, the lead did not last long. The match became a bit more grim and Feyenoord had to fight a bit more. This all got worse around the hour. After a free kick it was Erik Sviatchenko, a strong header of the Danes, who won the aerial duel and headed the ball past Bijlow.

After that, the match was made dead, by riots, by time wasting by FC Midtjylland and by fatigue among Feyenoord players. That fatigue suddenly seemed to disappear in the last 10 minutes. The Legion stood behind the men and a real final offensive was launched. Many balls were fired at goal and the Danes were under intense pressure. Still, the ball didn’t want to hit the ropes.
