During the last free practice before the Monza Grand Prix, it was Max Verstappen who set the fastest time. Debutant Nyck de Vries still has work to do, but has already shown that he is cut from the right racing cloth. He came very close to his teammate Nicholas Latifi.
Verstappen was at the top for a long time during the last free practice. He recorded a time of 1:21.8 on the medium tyre. He was closely followed by Ferrari rival Charles Leclerc and Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez. Nyck de Vries of Williams came out a little later. In his first run he could not beat his teammate Nicholas Latifi. He did go into the gravel for a while.

Problems at Ferrari
Carlos Sainz was called in after 20 minutes, because there were said to be problems with a fuel pump. Not everything went smoothly for Leclerc either, as the entire rear of his car was removed from the car halfway through the session.
With about 15 minutes to go the qualifying runs started. It was Verstappen himself who improved his time. For the rest, no one succeeded. De Vries also managed to improve his own time. He showed that he is cut from the right racing cloth, as he managed to approach Latifi by 1 tenth.
In the end, Verstappen was the fastest, as is often the case. Leclerc followed 3 tenths away and Pérez almost 6 tenths away. De Vries set the 13th fastest time.
