Josef Newgarden won the IndyCar race at Road America on Sunday. He stayed ahead of his competitors Marcus Ericsson and Alexander Rossi. Rinus ‘VeeKay’ van Kalmthout did not play a significant role with a 17th place. Check out the summary here!
Newgarden recorded his 3rd win of the season. With the win, he earned a bonus of no less than 1 million dollars. Van Kalmthout, on the other hand, had a lot of bad luck this weekend. He started the race from P17 and soon moved forward, but after this push from Christian Lundgaard, the Ed Carpenter Racing racer fell way back.
VeeKay managed to correct some spots, but a higher ranking was not for him. teasing spirit Lundgaard finished 10th† Reigning champion Álex Palou, among others, did not make it to the end of the match.
The IndyCar drivers now have a few weeks of rest. The next race is at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, on July 3.
