Rafael Nadal has put his concerns about his injury problems aside and is preparing in Mallorca for Roland Garros. “See you on Wednesday, Paris,” the Spaniard writes with a training photo on Instagram.
The 13-time winner of the grand slam tournament in Paris was eliminated last week in the 8th finals of the masters tournament in Rome by the Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
Nadal suffered another chronic foot injury in the Italian capital, which forced him to end his season early last year. It sparked speculation about Nadal’s possible absence from Roland Garros.
The 35-year-old tennis player recently returned from a rib injury that had sidelined him for weeks. In Rome, the Spaniard said that the daily training sessions are still a challenge due to his injuries. “Of course I do my best, but it’s not always easy. There are many days when I can’t train in a normal way. I have to accept it and will keep fighting.”
Last year, Nadal lost at Roland Garros in the semifinals to Novak Djokovic, who eventually also won the tournament.
