Alexander Zverev will immediately go out in Munich against Danish tennis talent

Alexander Zverev (ATP 3) immediately lost his first match at the ATP tournament in Munich (gravel/534,555 euros). The German had to acknowledge his superiority in his own country after one hour and 39 minutes of tennis in two sets (6-3 and 6-2) in the barely eighteen-year-old Dane Holger Rune (ATP 70).

The 25-year-old Zverev was free in the first round as top seed. The second round against Rune immediately became his final station. Zverev, the reigning Olympic champion, won the tournament in Munich in 2017 and 2018.

It is Rune’s first win against a top 10 player in the ATP ranking. In the quarterfinals he will meet the winner of the game between the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (ATP 63) and the American Maxime Cressy (ATP 65).
