Rafael Nadal to Indian Wells final after beating compatriot Alcaraz

Rafael Nadal has qualified for the final of the masters tournament in Indian Wells with the necessary effort. In the semifinals, the 35-year-old Spaniard, the current number 4 in the world, was eventually too strong for his 18-year-old compatriot Carlos Alcaraz, it became 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3.

In the first set it went on for a long time, but Nadal managed to take it 6-4 after more than an hour of playing through a break in the tenth game. In the second set there were the necessary breaks and Alcaraz eventually took the lead. In the third set, both players won their serve games until Nadal broke through his opponent’s serve in game eight. He then served the game out.

Nadal will face American tennis player Taylor Fritz in the final. In the other semifinal, he defeated the Russian Andrej Roeblev in two sets: 7-5 6-4. The 24-year-old American thus qualified for his first masters final.
