Alison Van Uytvanck advances to quarterfinals of WTA tournament Lyon


Alison Van Uytvanck (WTA 55) has qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Lyon, France on Wednesday evening (hard / $ 239,477).

The Grimbergse, the seventh seed, won in the second round in two sets against the Russian Varvara Gracheva (WTA 71), who plays under a neutral flag. After an hour and 24 minutes, the 6-2, 6-4 score was on the board.

27-year-old Van Uytvanck had also won the only previous meeting with 21-year-old Gracheva, last year in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan (6-4, 6-4).

To advance to the semi-finals, Van Uytvanck has to pass the French Caroline Garcia (WTA 74) or the Italian Martina Trevisan (WTA 92). They meet on Thursday.
