On the fifth day of play in the EuroMillions Volley League, Maaseik booked a 3-2 win in the Clasico against Roeselare on Saturday. It had to erase a set deficit twice: 20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12.

For Roeselare it meant the first loss of the season after four three-pointers. In the standings, it now has to give way to the still unbeaten Maaseik. Menen, which beat Achel 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 11-25, 16-14), is third, two points behind Maaseik and Roeselare. Leuven remains fourth after a smooth 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) against Ghent.

On Sunday, Borgworm and Aalst will give each other a match. After that, the competition stops for a while. Because no audience is allowed from Monday and until December 15, it was decided to postpone the matches of the sixth match day (December 4-5) and the semi-finals of the cup (December 11-12).
