Okapi Aalst and Antwerp Giants qualify for the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup basketball without any problems


In addition to Brussels, Kangaroos Mechelen and Ostend, Okapi Aalst and Antwerp Giants have also qualified for the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup.

Antwerp Giants had no problems with second division Royal IV from Brussels. Through Matt Tiby (15 points, 9 rebounds), top scorer Dennis Donkor (19 points, 5 assists), Seppe D’Espallier (16 points, 7 rebounds) and Roby Rgoiers (13 points, 5 rebounds), it went after 19- 34, 25-64 (half time) and 37-81 to a 53-101 win. Thijs De Ridder completed the century for the Sinjoren.

Okapi Aalst took the measure of third division team Oostkamp. The Onions collectively took further distance after 22-27. From a 36-51 halftime score it went to 54-78 and a big 69-97 victory. Bergen will go to second division Limburg United B on Sunday. On Monday there will be the return between the two first division teams Leuven Bears and Charleroi. The team from Leuven won the first leg on Friday in Charleroi 61-68.

The quarter-finals of the Belgian Cup will be played in the weekend of December 10 and 12. The semi-finals are scheduled for the weekend of January 21 and 23 and the final will take place on March 13 and again in Forest National.
