Brave battle yields Ostend nothing against Strasbourg in Champions League

In group F of the Champions League, Filou Oostende also lost his first home match with 77-83.

In an exploratory initial quarter, both teams balanced each other almost perfectly. From the eleventh minute, the French stepped up their game. Yet Gillet and co almost completely wiped out the ten-point gap: from 23-33 to 38-39. Strasbourg laid the foundation for his victory in a sharp start to the third act. The visitors again quickly built up their difference of ten units: 46-56 and 57-67. The people of Ostend stubbornly sought a solution. Randolph (17 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists), Booth (12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist) and star Gillet (21 points at 83%, 4 assists) were approaching 75-78 but that was not enough. At Strasbourg, Roberson was decisive with 20 points after the break. (rpo)
