Exit threatens: Red Dragons lose last group match at European Volleyball Championship

Exit dreigt: Red Dragons verliezen laatste groepswedstrijd op EK volley

At the European Volleyball Championship, the Red Dragons (FIVB-22) suffered a 3-1 defeat against Ukraine (FIVB-24) in their last group match in Krakow, Poland on Tuesday. The set positions were 25-27, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-23.

To be sure of a place in the eighth finals, the Belgians should have won 3-0 or 3-1, now their qualifying chances are minimal. The Dragons have only won one of five games, 3-0 against Greece, and are currently in fourth place in Group A.

It is the top four who qualify for the eighth finals. On Wednesday the numbers five and six, Portugal and Greece, will compete against each other. Only if the Greeks win 3-2, the Belgians will still continue.
