Preparations for the new season will start in a few weeks, so Dries Mertens is trying to make the most of his holiday after the European Championship. The Red Devil is currently doing that on safari in Tanzania. It should come as no surprise that Kat Kerkhofs is in the photo. What stands out though: his wrapped shoulder.
Just after the European Championship, Mertens was operated on that left shoulder. The operation, which was performed by doctor Geert Declercq, the doctor of the Red Devils, served to stabilize the shoulder. In principle, Mertens had to rest for two to three weeks after the procedure before he could start his rehabilitation. Mertens and Kerkhofs should therefore keep quiet in the wild.
