Without their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Atlanta Hawks 123-112 on Thursday. Milwaukee now leads 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals and needs one more win to advance to the NBA Finals for the third time in club history.
Brook Lopez excelled at the Bucks with 33 points. Milwaukee also had 26 points and 13 rebounds from Khris Middleton and 25 points and 13 assists from Jrue Holiday.
Vedette Giannis Antetokounmpo was missing from the Bucks. The Greek two-time MVP was out in the fourth game with the Hawks on Tuesday with a knee injury. Atlanta could not count on Trae Young, who also missed the fourth match with a bruise in the foot.
A game in Atlanta will follow on Saturday. Optionally, a deciding seventh game will take place Monday in Milwaukee.
On Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns already secured a ticket for the NBA Finals. The Arizona team won 103-130 against the LA Clippers to take an insurmountable 4-2 lead in the final of the Western Conference.
