While celebrating the classification for the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo is keeping an eye on events outside the pitch, this Thursday (17th). As early as 10:00 am, the STJD Plenary will judge the club’s request to stop the Brazilian Championship during the Copa America, which runs until the next 10/7. The session will be virtual, live. Fla is pessimistic, but a favorable result could interfere in the point below.
Shortly thereafter, at around 11 am, the board will keep their eyes glued to the call for the Olympics. Pedro, Gabigol, Everton Ribeiro and Rodrigo Caio are on a pre-list with 50 names, but only 18 will be called by André Jardine. It is likely that Pedro will be called and Fla will try to convince him not to go. The club is not obliged to release the athlete for the competition, which starts on 22/7, but it also does not want to cause frustration. The problem can be greater if more than one team player is called.
Another important point this Thursday, but on the field, is the re-presentation of coach Rogério Ceni, scheduled for the afternoon. The captain could not lead the team in the two games against Coritiba and against América-MG and will return against RB Bragantino, next Saturday (19), at Maracanã, for the fifth round of the Brasileirão.
