On Thursday 10 and Saturday 12 June you can see the Belgian Cats live in the hall for the first time in a long time. 550 and 700 spectators respectively are admitted during a test event in collaboration with the Flemish Government. Tickets are on sale from Wednesday 2 June at 10:00 am at www.basketballbelgium.be/tickets.
After the successful four-country tournament in Kortrijk with three wins against Serbia, Puerto Rico and Nigeria, the Belgian Cats almost immediately boarded a plane to Spain, where a training camp is being held in Cordoba. The Cats are practicing in Cordoba this week against Spain (Friday) and Nigeria (Saturday). The team will travel back to Belgium on Sunday, June 6, to prepare for the last exhibition games in preparation for the European Championship.
These exhibition games will be played on 10 and 12 June and again in Kortrijk (Sportcampus Lange Munte). Through a test event, the audience will again be able to be present in the hall at those matches. On Thursday, June 10, Philip Mestdagh’s team will practice against Greece, in front of 550 spectators. On Saturday, June 12, Greece will be played again, but this time in front of 700 spectators. On Monday June 14 the Cats will leave for the European Championship in Strasbourg.
Measures at the test event
The competitions are organized in collaboration with the Flemish Government as an experiment to measure the effect of a large group of people on the air quality within a certain space. The number of people allowed was determined by experts on the basis of the volume of the room and the ventilation. Everyone older than 6 years old will have to take a rapid test, for which you must register in time in the hall. In addition, it will also be possible to have a drink, in accordance with the applicable catering measures.
Tickets for the practice matches against Greece are on sale from Wednesday 2 June at 10:00 am at www.basketballbelgium.be/tickets
