Flamengo’s Arrascaeta tested positive for coronavirus and was removed from Uruguay’s games against Paraguay and Venezuela bynext rounds of qualifiers. In his place, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) called in striker Brian Ocampo, from Nacional-URU.
According to the AUF, Arrascaeta presented himself to the national team last Monday with a negative test. However, the 27-year-old was tested again on Tuesday and was diagnosed with the disease. He will remain in isolation for 14 days and, for the time being, is on Uruguay’s list for the America Cup.

Arrascaeta was Flamengo’s titleholder in the 1-0 victory against Palmeiras last Sunday, at Maracanã. On Monday, he traveled to Montevideo and performed normally for the Uruguayan national team. He participated in the activity led by coach Óscar Tabárez and spoke with the coach.
