AZ is keeping pressure on PSV, Vitesse is doing good business for place 4

AZ put the pressure on PSV on Saturday evening. The Alkmaarders won after a deficit at RKC Waalwijk (1-3) and came in terms of points on a level with the team from Eindhoven, which has a better goal difference and is allowed to play one more match. Vitesse also did very good business in Arnhem in the final minute.

AZ fell behind due to a brutal RKC Waalwijk. Please note Thijs Oosting, a mercenary from AZ, opened the score. Before half time AZ did something back via Albert Gudmundsson: 1-1.

Mistake and red card
After the break, AZ was stronger, but it was unable to score for a long time. A mistake by RKC helped the away team in the saddle, Myron Boadu took full advantage. Moments later, Sylla Sow received a dubious red card from referee Dennis Higler, after a kicking movement in the direction of Timo Letschert. Calvin Stengs later decided the game.

Touré hero of Arnhem
Vitesse was frightened against PEC Zwolle, which was plagued by a corona wave. The Arnhemmers took the lead through Armando Broja. A goal from Broja shortly after the break was disallowed via offside, after which PEC tied the score. Jesper Drost was the scorer. Substitute Idrissa Touré headed Vitesse to 3 points in injury time.

Other results:

Heracles Almelo – VVV-Venlo: 4-0
Fortuna Sittard – FC Twente: 3-0
