EUROPA LEAGUE. Ajax laat het zelf liggen tegen AS Roma, Manchester United zet stap richting halve finales tegen Granada

On Thursday evening, the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals were scheduled. Belgians no longer played with it, but a number of top teams and old acquaintances did. An overview.

Ajax – AS Roma 1-2

Ajax has missed an opportunity to take an option for a place in the semi-finals. Davy Klaassen brought the team from Amsterdam to 1-0 in the first half. Dusan Tadic got the chance to make it 2-0 after the break, but missed from the spot. Less than five minutes later, Lorenzo Pellegrini equalized with a free kick that third goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen did not show his sharpest side. In the very last minute it even became 1-2 via Ibanez. A lot of work to be done for Ajax in the return match.
