European champion Portugal won his World Cup qualifying match at Luxembourg 1-3 on Tuesday, after surprisingly falling behind at first. The Netherlands went on to win 0-7 at Gibraltar. The group of our northern neighbors is still very exciting. Turkey also won and remains the leader with seven points. The Netherlands has six, just like Montenegro and Norway.

Croatia wins quickly
Vice world champion Croatia beat Malta 3-0 after goals from Ivan Perisic (62., ex-Club Brugge), Luka Modric (76.) and Josip Brekalo (90.). In the same group, Slovakia beat Russia 2-1. Milan Skriniar (38.) opened the score. Mario Fernandes (71.) equalized, but Robert Mak (74.) still gave the Slovaks the victory. Croatia is the leader with a better goal difference than Russia, which also has six points. Slovakia has five points, Malta has one point.
