Tennis player Benoît Paire lives up to his reputation: spitting after a fight, giving away the match in a bizarre way and then … partying

Tennisser Benoît Paire doet reputatie alle eer aan: spuwen na ruzie, wedstrijd op bizarre wijze weggeven en dan… feesten

No victory in the second round of the Buenos Aires ATP tournament for Benoît Paire (ATP 29). The Frenchman went down in three sets against Argentinian talent Francisco Cerundolo (ATP-137).

Paire had nevertheless won the first set 6-4, but then went into the boat 3-6 and 1-6. In between, he once again lived up to his reputation as a ‘bad boy’ with flying colors.

First of all, there was his lengthy discussion with the umpire at the end of the third game in the second set. Paire was absolutely convinced that Cerundolo’s service was outside, but according to the umpire it was just inside. The Frenchman could not believe his ears and backed down, after which he spit on the impression of the ball.

At the end of the game, Paire was so tired of everything that he gave up his serve game with two special double faults. Namely: they were meant to be. That is not allowed and so the French can expect a fine. Although that didn’t seem to bother him much …

And to forget everything, Paire then moved into Argentine nightlife.
