A signed player card of Slovenian NBA star Luka Doncic has changed hands for the record amount of 4.6 million dollars (about 3.8 million euros).
Collector Bolillo Lajan San confirmed the news on his Instagram page. The sale took place on the 22-year birthday of the Dallas Mavericks star player.
The previous record sums were paid for tickets from Giannis Antetokounmpo ($ 1.8 million), LeBron James ($ 1.8 million) and Michael Jordan ($ 1.4 million).
Antetokounmpo leads Milwaukee in top match past Clippers
Giannis Antetokounmpo has underlined his MVP status in the NBA in Sunday night’s top poster against the LA Clippers. The Greek star from Milwaukee led the Bucks to a 105-100 victory.
Antetokounmpo was good for 36 points and fourteen rebounds. It was already the fourth game in a row that the two-time MVP scored at least 35 points. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the last Milwaukee player to succeed in 1973.
Kawhi Leonard was the best shooter of the visiting Clippers with 25 points.
Milwaukee took 21st victory in 34 games on Sunday, following in the wake of Philadelphia (22-12) and Brooklyn (22-13), the top two in the Eastern Conference.
The Clippers suffered a twelfth loss (against 24 wins) and had to give up their second place in the Western Conference to fellow townsman Lakers. The reigning champion won at home against Golden State on Sunday 117-91. Six players from the home team finished in double digits, with the inevitable LeBron James (19 pts) top scorer in his 1,300th regular season game.
